Junior scientists discuss with experts and seniors in Ulm about the advantages and challenges of systems that may technically assist older people.
Within the scope of the “Week on Technological Support for Ageing” (July 2013) in Ulm, Germany, junior scientists discussed with experts and seniors about the advantages and challenges of Ambient-Assisted-Living (AAL) technologies. Different lectures and workshops offered the chance to learn about the ethical, judicial, social and medical aspects of systems that technically assist older people who need of help and care. In his expert lecture concerning the “Use of the internet by older people”, Markus Marquard (ZAWiW, Ulm) introduced, among others, the TAO-project as an example of an innovative educational research project in context of Ambient Assisted Living.
