Bern University of Applied Sciences

With its approximately 5.500 students the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BUAS) is one of the largest of the eight Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences. The TAO project is situated in the department of business and administration, health, and social work. Several years ago, the three departmental divisions identified “aging” as a common field of interest and – as part of their overall strategy – started to pursue the establishment of a multi-disciplinary research focus “gerontology”. In doing so, they collaborated closely with the other departments of BUAS. In the framework of the research focus “e-government”, the division of business and administration is engaged in projects on open government, e-participation and crowdsourcing.

The team of the Bern University of Applied Sciences devotes its experience and expertise in the fields of social work (research on aging and integration), health, organizational development, change management, IT-architecture and standardization to the TAO project. The division of business and administration is in charge of the overall coordination of the project.
